Major New Wastewater Project in Peru

SEDAPAL, the public Water and Sewerage Service Company in Lima, has appointed GKW Consult for the "Technical Assistance Service for the preparation of the final design, tender documents and site supervision of the Atarjea Wastewater Treatment Plant." The project is pre-financed by Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).

Objective is to provide technical assistance to the Capital of Lima in order to expand and provide better wastewater and sewage treatment facilities and services. GKW Consult will be responsible for the review of basic design values, alternative studies, feasibility study, final design, preparation of tender documents, construction supervision, and monitoring during the commissioning phase. Services include the assistance of SEDAPAL in all project phases.

The facilities will include a full mechanical and biological treatment plant and will have a capacity for the treatment of sewage of 1.5 million inhabitants. The project is initially defined to be carried out in 4 years time.
