Lahmeyer GKW Consult will support a Development Project in Niger, financed by KfW

In August 2014 Lahmeyer GKW Consult has been awarded with the Investment and Training Programme for Local Authorities in the Republic of Niger (PICCT).

Under Component I of this 20 million EUR Programme, which is being financed by German KfW, the municipal development and good governance principles shall be supported by means of investments for local infrastructures in the regions of Tillabéry, Tahoua and Agadez.

Component II will reinforce capacity building and training measures for local authorities, while during Component III the establishment of a national financing institution for municipalities and regions shall be supported.

Until end of 2018, the programme shall provide sustainable infrastructures (e.g. schools, hospitals, markets) and capacity building measures which will help to improve the living conditions of the local population. The programme wil be managed by Gerd Becker.
