New social infrastructure project in Niger

On 13 May 2019 GKW has been contracted with the "Program for the Promotion of Education" in Niger. The program is financed by the German Financial Cooperation and aims at enabling the Territorial Entities in Tahoua region to provide the local population with long-term primary and secondary education infrastructures and communal services of good quality.

Project objectives include financing of school infrastructure and support to the Territorial Entities throughout the full project cycle (identification, selection, planning, implementation, commissioning and organization of operation and maintenance).

Investment comprise construction and rehabilitation of primary and secondary school infrastructure (furniture, latrines, walls, teacher accommodation, teaching materials etc.) and the preparation of a "school materials package" for the short-term operation, maintenance and equipment of schools and management committees.

Overall cost of the Program are estimated to be 15.3 MEUR.
