New wastewater project in Bolivia

El Campanario WWTP

The Ministry of Environment and Water (MMAyA) of Bolivia has awarded Tractebel GKW (now GKW Consult) with the consulting services contract for the “Improvement of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) El Campanario - Sucre”.

The project is financed by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and aims to upgrade the existing WWTP, which was designed by Tractebel GKW (former and current GKW Consult) and constructed in 2002 under the KfW-funded Programme Sucre II.

The studies will comprise the inventory and assessment of the present situation and operation of the WWTP, the elaboration of alternatives for rehabilitation, retrofitting and improvement of its operation and the detailed design of the approved alternatives for all components (process, structural, electromechanical and automatization).

The project will be implemented over a period of 4 months and completed by February 2021.
