New Water and Sanitation Project in Turkey

GKW Consult in association with WYG Turkiye has been contracted for the Kahramanmaraş Water and Wastewater Project. Kahramanaraş, situated close to Gaziantep in Southeastern Turkey, has about 0.5 million inhabitants.

Objective is to provide technical assistance to Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality and the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) through administrative and technical capacity building, modernization of the Water Utility Department and assisting the Municipality in setting up and operating an efficient water and wastewater department (Water Utility Department). Moreover, a programme to monitor industrial discharges to the public sewerage network which shall help to facilitate the enforcement by the Provincial Directorate of Environment on industries shall be developed.

GKW Consult, together with WYG Türkiye, will be responsible for the pre-construction activities and supervision as well as backstopping during the construction stage and post-construction activities (DNP).
