The Ministry of Environment and Water (MMAyA) of Bolivia has awarded Tractebel GKW GmbH (now GKW Consult) and its local partner CPM Srl. with the consulting services contract for the elaboration of the “Master Plans of Water Supply and Sewerage in the cities of Sucre, Potosi and Oruro”.

The project will be implemented under Component 3 of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) funded “Peri-urban Water Supply and Sewerage Program – Phase II” (PAAP II).

The Master Plans will comprise the inventory and assessment of the existing water supply and sewerage infrastructure in each city, the formulation of scenarios, alternatives, climate change resilience measures and expansion strategies within a design horizon of 30 years (up to 2049), the prioritization of the measures in short-, medium- and long-term investments and the elaboration of pre-feasibility studies for the short-term investments. The services will be concluded with the socialization and dissemination of the Master Plans to the local authorities and all other relevant key stakeholders.

The project will be implemented over a period of 14 months and completed by March 2021.
