New Water Supply Project in Palestine, Westbank

The Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) has awarded Tractebel GKW GmbH (now GKW Consult) and its local consortium partner CEP with a consulting service contract for the “Connection Points Ramallah and Jenin Water Supply Project” to help overcome the deficit in water supply.

The project, financed by AFD and EU, is implemented under the Red to Dead Sea Agreement, where the Israeli Water Authority (IWA) is allocating additional water quantities to the West Bank.

The services include detailed design, preparation of tender documents and construction supervision services for the construction and upgrade of 2 bulk water systems in Ramallah and Jenin including water transmission mains (60km), booster pump stations and water reservoirs which will provide for adequate, reliable and safe water supply with better storage capabilities.

The contract will be implemented over a period of 55 months and has an investment value of around 50 million EUR.
