Tunisia, Analyzing Possibilities of operating Desalination Plants by means of Alternative Energy
On behalf of SONEDE Tunis, the Consultant has executed several Feasibility Studies in the scope of the National Programme for the Improvement of Water Quality in South Tunisia. The main target of the programme was to provide for sufficient drinking water quantity with salt contents below 1.5 g/l up to the year 2035.
The objective of this particular study was to analyse the possibilities of operating desalination plants by means of alternative energy resources. The analyses of existing measurements (Ben Guerdene site) showed that wind energy could be the most economic source of energy.
