United Arab Emirates, Wastewater Treatment Plant Fujairah

The Government of Fujairah awarded Tanqia Dibba FCZ the concession to develop, design, finance, own, operate, maintain and expand the wastewater treatment system “WWTS” for the City of Dibba and its environs as well as the WWTP for the City of Fujairah.

Tanqia Dibba FCZ has awarded a contract as owner’s engineer for the following infrastructure components:

  • Wastewater system Dibba (main collector, pressure pipes and sewer systems)
  • Dibba wastewater treatment plant (new construction)
  • Fujairah wastewater treatment plant (extension) and pumping stations

Both WWTPs are planned to be constructed identically, and the design comprises up to 4 flow lines in modular structure. Each modular flow line covers 16,000 m³/d.

In Fujairah, one module already exists. The project covers the design of the second flow line.

In Dibba, for the new construction of a WWTP, the Consultant must review and adapt the same modular design, elaborate the detailed design and supervise construction of the first flow line (16,000 m³/d).

In order to assess options for reuse of treated waste water, a study was carried out to define different categories of reuse and define related further treatment measures.
