Seychelles, Technical Assistance to PMU - Neptune Project Implementation
Tractebel GKW (now GKW Consult) supported the PMU with the development and implementation of investment projects: Renewal and expansion of the water supply systems in the three main islands of Seychelles to close the gap between demand and production for immediate and future projections, improve water and energy efficiency to optimize usage of resources and reduce costs and increase resilience to climate variation. Upgrading of the existing sewerage system on Mahé Island, and the creation of new sanitation facilities on La Digue to reduce the risk of contamination of groundwater sources. Implementation of water demand and resource management programmes including environmental and natural disaster risk management. Capacity building of the promoter through technical assistance and the provision of tools to implement and operate efficiently the water and sanitation facilities.
Services
- Provide assistance for preparation of ToRs, Tender Documents and Tender Evaluation for hiring Consulting Engineers for design and works supervision for all project components.
- Provide assistance for the revision and evaluation of reports, plans, designs, specifications and programs linked with the project, submitted by the recruited Consulting Engineers or other entities.
- Provide assistance for the works supervision and contract management, and coach the PMU on procurement and contractual issues;
- Provide necessary technical assistance and training to the Client and its staff during the project implementation.
- Assist the PMU Director and the Managers on technical matters regarding distribution networks and NRW reduction issues.
- Assist in the elaboration of an NRW strategy, including procedures for reduction of both technical and commercial losses.
- Review documentation and liaise with consultants to ensure compliance with technical standards to reduce NRW.
- Propose and assist in the preparation of concepts that can improve the operations.
