The contract covers overall assistance to the project owner during the tender and construction phases of a wastewater treatment plant in Medellín.
The consulting services included the alternative study, conceptual and final design, preparation of tender documents, as well as overall assistance to the project owner (Aguas Nacionales EPM) during tendering, contract award, construction phase and initial operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Bello in Medellín, Colombia.
The highly sophisticated WWTP provides biological treatment by a cascade pre-DN activated sludge process with fine bubble aeration, anaerobic sludge digestion and CHPU energy recovery, sludge dewatering and thermal drying, state of the art odor control system, fully automated SCADA system as well as the complete complementary infrastructure. The WWTP is one of the largest and most modern of the Latin American region.
The services also included a feasibility study and conceptual design for the complementary implementation of a thermal sludge drying system using thermal energy of natural gas turbines for the sludge from both the existing WWTP San Fernando and the new WWTP Bello.
