Our work focuses on water supply, wastewater treatment and sanitation, industrial water management, solid waste management, regional development and management consulting.
A particular focus of our work lies in sustainable and technologically demanding solutions in the water and wastewater sector. We combine technical know-how with economic, institutional, social and environmental expertise to develop projects holistically and to support their successful implementation under diverse local conditions.

Our organisation combines technical expertise, regional responsibility and corporate support functions. The structure shown in the organigram reflects our management set-up, our technical departments and our regional representation, as well as key cross-cutting functions such as finance and administration, compliance and quality management.
This organisational structure enables us to combine specialised technical knowledge with regional perspectives and effective internal coordination across our areas of work.
We introduced a comprehensive compliance management system in 2014, which is recognised by international and bilateral financing institutions.
As we operate in complex international environments, including high-risk and embargo countries, and work mainly with public clients under regulated procurement rules, compliance is a fundamental part of our business. Many of our projects are financed by international and bilateral donors that apply strict standards and sanctions in relation to fraud and corruption. We therefore maintain clear rules and procedures, including ethics and compliance training in our field offices, gifts and hospitality rules aligned with German legislation, and a highly restrictive approach to the use of business consultants, lobbying, patronage and sponsorship.
As an ISO 9001-certified company, we integrate ethics and compliance requirements into our quality management system and into all relevant stages of our workflow. This includes process descriptions, documented procedures and standard forms used in proposal preparation, project implementation, internal reporting, employee dialogue, management incentives and contract templates for partners and staff.
We are committed to integrity, transparency and responsible conduct in all areas of our work. Employees, clients and other stakeholders may report suspected misconduct, infringements of internal rules or violations of applicable law through our designated reporting channels. Reports may be submitted confidentially to our management, our compliance officers or our independent ombudsperson in Germany.
Concerns can be raised in writing or verbally. Reporting channels include direct contact by e-mail or telephone. Confidential personal meetings can also be arranged upon request. All reports are reviewed carefully and handled as confidentially as possible within the framework of the applicable procedures and legal requirements. No person who submits a report in good faith should face retaliation as a result.
For cases in which direct reporting does not appear feasible or appropriate, reports may also be submitted through the Whistleblower Portal of the GFA GROUP. The portal can be used to report suspicions or violations of the Code of Conduct, internal company rules or applicable laws. Reports submitted through the portal are assessed carefully and handled confidentially. Where a response is requested, it is helpful to provide a contact e-mail address.
